FAQ

Are the two formats lossless in both directions?
For typical data, yes, YAML maps cleanly onto JSON and back. Edge cases like YAML anchors or non-string keys may not round-trip exactly.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser.
Does it convert in both directions?
Yes, JSON to YAML and YAML to JSON. Pick a direction on the left, then paste either format.
Are comments preserved?
JSON does not support comments. When converting YAML with comments to JSON, the comments are dropped.
