FAQ

What happens if the deductee does not have a PAN?
TDS is deducted at the higher of the applicable rate or 20% per Section 206AA, effectively 20% without PAN for all sections including goods and crypto.
How is the TDS amount reported?
The deductor files it through a TDS return and it appears in your Form 26AS / AIS on the Income Tax portal as a credit.
Do I get a refund if the tax is over-deducted?
Yes, if the total TDS exceeds your annual tax liability, you can claim a refund when you file your income tax return.
