FAQ

How accurate is the Navy method?
The Navy method is reasonably accurate for most people (within 3 to 4% of a DEXA scan). It works best for individuals with average body compositions.
What do the categories mean?
Essential fat is the minimum needed for health. Athletes and Fitness are lean ranges. Acceptable is a normal healthy range. Obese indicates excess body fat.
Where do I measure my waist?
For men, measure at the navel. For women, measure at the narrowest point of the torso, just above the hips.
Can I use centimetres?
Yes. Toggle between inches and centimetres — the tool handles the conversion internally.
