HOW TO USE
- 1Add a category for each part of your course (homework, midterm, final) with its weight as a percentage of the overall grade.
- 2Enter the grades you have already earned. Leave a category blank if the work is still to come.
- 3Set the overall grade you are aiming for. The results show the weighted average of your graded categories.
- 4The grade needed on the remaining assignments is the score you must average to hit your target. If it exceeds 100%, the target is out of reach unless the grading changes.

FAQ
How is the required grade calculated?
Each earned grade contributes its grade times its weight; these are subtracted from your target overall grade, and the remainder is divided by the combined weight of the categories still to come. For example, with homework 20% at 85, midterm 30% at 78 and a 50% final, you need 99.2% on the final to land exactly on 90% overall.
Why do my weights need to add up to 100%?
The calculator compares everything against your target overall grade, so the category weights represent the full course. If they do not sum to 100%, you can still enter them as they are — just make sure they match your actual syllabus.
What if I need more than 100%?
The result is shown in red with a warning, the target is impossible with the remaining work. You would need to raise an already-graded category or negotiate a curve to get there.
What does a 0% or negative result mean?
Your earned grades already put you above the target — you could score nothing on the remaining work and still reach it. The calculator shows 0% in that case.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. All calculations run entirely in your browser, your grades and weights never leave your device.
