FAQ
What is Base64?
Base64 is a way of representing binary or text data using only the characters A–Z, a–z, 0–9, +, / and = padding. It is commonly used to send data through channels that only support text, like URLs or emails.
Is Base64 the same as encryption?
No. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode it. Never use Base64 to hide sensitive data.
Why does decoding sometimes fail?
The input is not valid Base64. For example, it contains characters outside the Base64 alphabet or has incorrect padding.
Can I encode emoji or non-English text?
Yes. The tool is Unicode-safe, so emoji, accented characters and non-Latin scripts encode and decode correctly.
