FAQ
What is the Caesar cipher?
It is one of the oldest encryption techniques: every letter is shifted by a fixed number of positions in the alphabet. With a shift of 3, A becomes D, B becomes E and so on.
What is ROT13?
ROT13 is a Caesar cipher with a fixed shift of 13. Because the alphabet has 26 letters, applying ROT13 twice returns the original text, it is its own inverse.
How do I decrypt a message?
Enter the negative of the shift used to encrypt. For example, if the text was encrypted with shift 3, use shift -3 to decrypt it.
Is the Caesar cipher secure?
No. It is trivially breakable and is meant for learning and puzzles, not real security.
