FAQ

What does binary (1024-based) conversion mean?
Each step up multiplies by 1024 instead of 1000: 1 KB = 1024 bytes, 1 MB = 1024 KB, and so on. This matches how operating systems report file sizes.
Which units are supported?
Bytes and bits: B, KB, MB, GB, TB, PB and b, Kb, Mb, Gb, Tb, Pb, twelve units in any direction, with 8 bits to a byte.
Why does my file show a different size in the OS?
Operating systems use 1024-based units while some storage vendors advertise 1000-based. This tool uses the 1024 convention, matching most file managers.
