It is the compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The single yearly rate that turns your initial investment into the final value. It makes short and long holdings comparable.
Does this account for taxes or inflation?
No. Capital gains tax, inflation and any income like dividends or rent are not included, so the real return is lower than shown.
Can I use this for a business or rental property?
