FAQ

What is the difference between IAP and UIP?
UIP (Universal Immunization Programme) is the free government schedule in India, covering the essential vaccines (BCG, OPV, pentavalent, IPV, rotavirus, PCV, MR, DPT, Td). IAP (Indian Academy of Pediatrics) is the comprehensive private-practice schedule, adding optional vaccines like influenza, typhoid conjugate, hepatitis A, varicella, MMR, HPV and Tdap.
Is my child overdue if a dose is late?
Not necessarily. The dates shown are the earliest recommended age for each dose. Most vaccines can be given later as catch-up doses, a missed dose does not require restarting the series. Exceptions like rotavirus have an upper age limit, so confirm with your pediatrician.
Are the due dates exact?
No. They are the earliest recommended age in days from birth (for example, 6 weeks = 42 days). Your pediatrician may schedule visits slightly later, and combination vaccines can combine several listed vaccines into one injection.
Is this a substitute for medical advice?
No. This tool is informational and shows standard schedules. Always confirm the schedule and catch-up plan with your pediatrician, since individual children may need different timing.
